Abstract
Bullet proof vests, made of Kevlar are used for preventing projectiles from injuring humans. Soft armours are capable of protecting humans from low energy projectiles while hard-plate reinforced armours use metal plates, which weigh over 14+ kg for protection against high energy projectiles. NonNewtonian fluids which have time dependent properties (particularly viscosity) are prepared and tested for energy absorbing properties.
It was proved that when Kevlar was used with Oobleck sample, the deformation produced in test plate was reduced considerably as compared to that of only Kevlar sample. Â
